Sure, but from my hazy memory ascending is basically impossible unless you know fairly arcane details such as how magic resistance and cancellation work. Say, a gray dragon scale mail is actually not your one stop against magic, because it lacks MC. That kind of stuff always struck me as unecessarily obfuscated.
