I'm all for "bigger" as well, but maybe a hint less yellow? Also, It looks like the moon has some glossyness, a more even distribution of light might look better
I just resized it for the screenshot. The output is set to 128px, just as big as the previous version of the moon. And nothing against the yellow, this moon is made of cheese! :(
See above. A little bit too shiny for my taste. Also, neither firefox nor my image viewer can open the file. I'd guess it's too big with 46080 pixels width.
Clonk-Karl: say, is it possible to change the light source for single meshes (via animation)? Normalmaps are not implemented, right?

No. We could add a script interface of course, but I am not convinced it is a good idea to use different light sources for some objects and not for others.
Granted, but the moon is kind of a special case isn't it? ;)
The moon is not a mesh yet anyway, is it?
Well, let me know if you have a suggestion on how such a script interface could look like. But, I'd still prefer to wait for Peter's lighting changes first before changing anything here which people then rely on and soon later it will become obsolete.

Does it necessarily need a script interface? Or is it perhaps somehow possible to include a light source in the ogre format?
I don't think so, and I don't think that would be a good way to go. Lights should be defined by the environment the meshes are in, not by the meshes themselves.
Maybe what we are looking for are materials with self-illumination, i.e. nonzero emissive material component? That should be supported already by the engine.

Opera can open it without problems ;)
Just tell me how much frames you want and I'll change it.
Maybe it would look even better if the black parts are replaced by transparency...then it would also look good at dawn.
Yes, but I have no idea how to do this in cinema. Just tried some weird stuff but nothing works :(
cool! The center two animations look odd though - the border is lighter than the moon?
Anyway, could you also share the C4D file under cc-by?
