I think it would be a nice addition, to change how your clonks look!

In older clonks, you could change the names and ranks but something you could never do is to change how they look! Since this version will have 3d models and such and more detail in the clonks, it would be nice to edit how every each of your clonks look ;)

Options for changing your clonk:

General:

Name: Give your clonk a name.
Rank: Cannot be changed. Experience will ;)
Age: How old is your clonk? (Changes his hair colour!)

Head:

Head Shape: Does your clonk have a squared face or a round one?
Hairstyle: Change the shape of the hair
Hair colour: What colour hair does your clonk have?
Ear Shape: Big ears, small ears[
Eye Shape: Change the shape of the eyes
Eye colour: What colour eyes does your clonk have?
Nose Shape: Big nose? Small nose?
Mouth Shape: Big lips & Mouth or not ?
Beard Shape:  Does your clonk have a beard?
Beard colour: The colour of your clonks beard.

Body:
Weight: How much does your clonk weight? (Change your agility and health?)
Strength: How muscled is your clonk? (Change strength and... something else?)
Length: How big is your clonk? (Change agility, speed etc?)

Clothes:
Shirt: The standard shape of your shirt. Uses your team colour!
Pants: The standard shape of your pants, able to pick a colour.

Those are the possible things we might use. Of course this is something for later but if I dont mention it now it might be too late :)

Uhm... to be honest I think this is pretty unnecessary. Unless you are playing with a giga-sized monitor, your clonks aren't very visible when at an average zoom level anyways. While changing the clonk's entire appearance (selectable skins) is a possibility currently on the table, we're definitely not going to introduce Oblivion-style FaceGen. While we definitely could with OGRE format, it would be totally unnoticeable ingame, and I'm sure it would interfere with other 3D models on the clonk.

I think, grey hair for the [devs|league chamions] would be nice and pretty noticable :)

While the main devs will most likely not do that (because of priorities), if you (Yihka) find someone to implement such a system, I doubt anyone will say no to it :)

Cool idea! (maybe aside from age changing hair color)
Special clonks for RPG scenarios, with persistent inventory and trainable skills.

I'd like to use a towel instead of pants. So what?

Yeah... like in TF2? Not long ago there was a nice discussion about Hat-Simulators in the CF.

Grr. Suggestion inspired by multiple posts in this topic, in case Clonk-customization is added.

"English" and "American" as separate language downloads. The English one would refer to "Pants" as "Trousers". Thank you.

Hahahaha

We could just do what CR did and base the entire language off British English (That sounds very redundant btw).

Anyone opposed? :D

According to LEO, "elevator" is an American English word.

CR clearly was German English ;-) Schools mostly teach British English here (and my parents had a English-German dictionary which didn't even mention that it used British English...), but computer jargon largely is American English, so it's likely to be a weird mixture.

We should try to use "prepone" somewhere in OpenClonk to make the mixture even more complete.
