The z-order is the total order of the objects, "Category-layers" only the broad one.
I wonder whether we shouldn't just remove the layer feature and replace it with an option to disable objects. Isn't that the only usecase the layers are actually used for?
Well, perhaps we can move the current category to "Behaviorflags" or something and reuse the term.
