I don't think so. The console split patch that broke viewport/windowing stuff was an isolated mistake, it simply wasn't as ready as it superficially looked. I probably should have made Mortimer split that patch up in nice reviewable chunks, but he already had done a lot of work to make his patches better. Fortunately, I think further mistakes in that area can be effectively limited to the Cocoa port.
