Oh, yeah, maybe my positivity was too strong. I agree that OC looks indie (especially regarding the different styles of buildings). Buut I don't think that's a major point for people that don't do game-dev art for a living.
Compare to e.g. minecraft, which looks even more indie. I think people are very open to compromises in graphics when the rest of the game is fun.
And especially the light effects, landscape shader, particles can look really beautiful in OC - and everything together, imo, looks better than for example CE or maybe even CR :)
