By the way, here its obvious that if we have more photorealistic and colorful textures, we need a soft transition between the different textures to make it look better. Additionally, the textures are very different from each other iin structure and coloring, I wonder if or how this could look. Or if a tunnel would look good which always has the texture and color of the material that has been digged free but darker.

Transitions will probably look okay if we just darken the transition borders a bit.
I removed the Ice texture because I misunderstood the license terms for noctua graphics.
can I use these Textures for gwX Voxel-Landscapes?

As long as you comply with the terms of CC-by (German version for your convenience), you can do whatever you want. :)
Ok, some textures from me, hope that they will prove useful.:
They are all my work, and I post them all under CC-by license, so feel free to do anything you want with them.

Some more textures(+normal maps) in textures1.zip file, [Hi-res] are 1024x1024, and [Low-res] are 256x256, other are 512x512. I post them under CC-by license:
EDIT.: Actually there will be 3 .zip files as they all together have ~9MB
EDIT2.: There will be 4 files, why it must be 3000000b instead of 3MB?
EDIT3.: HUH!!!! I uploaded all four files, why is there only one?

Hm... The textures are not special. I think, we have some better ones. And pls look at you quality of the textures. :/
I made them myself, they quality is bad especially because my camera is quite cheap one. I know that they are not too good, but I hoped that they could be usefull too.
EDIT.: I think that bark texture is quite good...

It isn't final, its just a test how it looks like. And I dont know how Acid Fluid looks like, do you?
But that wouldn't be suitable for a game: I think it should stay green. But maybe a bit more bright/aggressive (and bubbly!)
Yes of course that would be boring. And most people will think of green acid anyway. Maybe there should be some effects (bubbles, swashing, froth) for fluids that make them look more interesting.
Yeah that sounds really interessting. We had to test that I think :).
I like the way it looks in Portal, but I don't think that we can copy that into 2D.
Can you add a Screenshot? I dont remember how it looks like...

The bottom is the acid. Underwater (sorry, 'underacid') ist is just leight greenish.

Is that acid? I don't think it feels like acid at all. I have always thought of it as some industrial polluted water. It iw way too dark and brownish IMO. I think it should be bright green, with a fuzzy bubbly animation. Maybe make it shit appearance depending on a corrosion variable.
Almost none corrosion = darker green, no bubbles
Some corrosion = brighter, few bubbles
Much corrosion = very bright, alot of fuzzing and bubbling and fchhh-noise. Almost like it were boiling.
Then acid wouldn't have a constant damage either. That would give more oppurtunities when making maps.

That sounds great, but it could be very ressource-consuming with mixing materials...
I think just two or three different acids wouldn't be very good, so the acids must be mixable, as all other fluids, too, to get different corrosion values.
That wouldn't be THAT hard...
Each liquid give their properties to the final liquid, and the corrosion value depend on that, oil would give it ignition properties, and water just dillute.

I dont mean three different acids. I mean ONE acid that has a constant called Corrosion that can be set somehow. Maybe upon the creation of the acid, i e the generation of the field, and that affects its behaviour.
I think that's a great idea, and would certainly enhance the complexity of the gameplay \o/ (and the fun >:3)
Lava texture: Did you read the tutorial for texture making? It's really helpful and will make you produce much better results. Keep in mind that this texture will be scaled, say, up to 3 times smaller if you zoom out in the game. So it must look good in 1:1, but also if tiled. This is especially important for textures which will cover large areas like earth, perhaps rock and water, perhaps other liquids like lava.
Otherwise I find the idea to make the lava look ~like that super!

Slimy acid, seamless. I like it pretty much. :D

I think that would look weird with objects in front of it, it looks less like a background texture.
What about placing objects between the acid and background polygons (though, if polygons are used)?

The water texture actually looks quite good. At least in comparison to the one-color mega-blue of Clonk Rage water.

The water looks as though it is seen from above. I think that would look quite weird in 2d.
Yes it is. But as I said - it looks still quite good and not too weird. I tested it. :-)
