Fully destructible planets and spaceships
Mine resources, construct buildings and produce goods
Explore a universe full of different planets
Design and customize your own spaceships
Seamless landing on planets
Multiplayer support
Continous development guided by community feedback
Designed for easy modding
Best regards,

That type of game is not one I am interested in. However compared to the most obvious competitor, minecraft, it is a great relief to find someone still knows how to make a 3D game properly. I will most certainly refer this game to every friend I know who is interested in such a game, good work!
Not heard of that one either :)
Huh. How is Minecraft not a "proper" 3D game? I think they did a great job masking technical limitations behind a retro aesthetic.
Well since we already are in OffTopic, I'll just add my two cents on that topic: I don't even consider minecraft a "game" game. It's more like a box of LEGOs - which is perfectly fine and does NOT say anything about the amount of fun someone can have with it. I also think it would be better if they had kept it that way, without introducing hunger and leveling systems and parallel dimensions and boss fights. It's like someone came to me and my LEGOs and said "Well there's some rules and rewards you don't really care about for playing with your LEGOs now, because your imagination isn't enough." And thats where I come to the conclusion: Minecraft wasn't designed as a game. I can't "win" minecraft, but they introduced quite a few ways to play it "wrong". Hm.
Yeah, that on the other part I can agree with. Intuitively, hunger and leveling seems like the wrong direction to me as well (well, I opposed it in the past for Clonk as well, so no surprise there).
I think you could go a long way following the Terraria school of thought... Allow the player to "summon" boss-fights and other challenges. That way, you can settle to your heart's content - until you feel ready for a challenge. Bonus points if you make it so players can't actually completely destroy their creation with it.

XP is nothing more than another resource to gather which can be spent on enchanting stuff. Of course there are already (blueprints for) xp-grinders which "farm" XP semi-automatically.

I guess I want hang-gliders! And CX!
me too!
Since you opened the topic here, is it possible to participate in the contest by posting here as well? Or would I need to create an account at your forum for that?
You should create an account at the Masterspace forum in order to participate in the competition, as the winning accounts on the forum will be upgraded to full membership.

Did you develop it on your own or do you have a team?
How exactly does modding look like in Masterspace?

I have developed this on my own, with support of some licensed content, such as 3D models and textures.
The graphics are powered by the 3D graphics engine Ogre3D (http://www.ogre3d.org), complemented with voxel support by the PolyVox library (http://www.volumesoffun.com).
Physics are provided by the Bullet physics library (http://bulletphysics.org) and network support by RakNet (http://www.jenkinssoftware.com).

Modding is provided by LUA scripts (http://www.lua.org) and adding new objects and resources are as easy as adding another script file to the script folder.
For the moment the scripting is mostly limited to specifying object attributes, but it will be possible to code more advanced behaviour in the future.
More and more functions will be exposed to scripting as the project development proceeds, but if you want any specific functions added, you may make a request in the forum and it will be added as soon as possible.
Support for modders is of high priority for this project and I will try to assist as much as possible through the forum. Extended modding instructions will also soon be available on the Masterspace wiki (not online yet).

do you have a linux version of it, too?
It does not work under wine
so basically a stack overflow in your code

Cool output ^^
There is no Linux version yet, although there might be one in the future.
The game has not been tested under Wine, but I will look into the problem and see if I can reproduce it.

Cool stuff, the game reminds me a bit of Golden Wipf Extreme (currently in alpha/beta?) :)
