Hay, dose anybody know if Mathes is still around? Oh by the way I'm on the clonk de forum but I'm new to open clonk.

No, he isn't really. He was never part of OC and left the regular Clonk development when OC was started.

What is he doing instead? He only said it's another project, but what kind of project? Another cool game? And is this our clonk-matthes?

He's working at a game development studio now - we don't really know much more. But Sidhe is certainly one of the more plausible theories out there.
