Here are some tracks I picked out which I think will fit Settlement rounds. I think the "Folk" genre really fits.

All tracks by Löhstana David
Déjà tout bu
Petit talibé
La pêche au thon
Quand je serai grand
Insomnie

Thanks for the input.

Guitar is definitely the most quick to make. I'll give it a though.

If you are still interested in free music for background or menu... or whatever... i could probably help. i'm working with a great library of eastwest sounds --> soundsonline.com. these are used for filmmusic, computergames,... in big productions. i study music and work as musician and producer (so far just for fun and my choirs but i've got a lot experience in composing). i truely love clonk for years and would make some stuff for you/the game. but only if you still would/could use it. it will be a lot of work ;).
than you would have the possibility to decide: atmosphere, bouncy, wild, calm, could, mystic ... what could be the menu? epic? ;) just an offer :).

Wow,
In case you haven't read the forum a lot: Music is definitely one of the things that OpenClonk is missing since the beginning of the project.

Actually, ala is also studying music and working on a project now to compose and produce music for OpenClonk. I think he also has a rather clear idea of the music style we are searching for now. So you could get in touch with ala about that, perhaps you could even work together on it. :-)

I think you got the wrong impression from Newton's message; language barrier is totally understandable. In short, we are thrilled that there is another talented musician interested in designing music for OC.

Newton's response was a very positive one. ^^

Welcome,
I wrote you a short pn. More on or after the weekend, I'm super busy at the moment.

Hm, I postponed this for a week: Got a workshop and a forced attendance for our universities opening day for the two days I scheduled for Clonk. Hopefully the following weekend this time.

I'm for still some happy folk metal tracks. Too bad many people don't like that kind of music. But I think some "heavier" music fits to the machinery/clonkpunk style. Meh, I can just let the music play with WMP in the background. :)
But the music really needs more drums and cymbals! (imho :p)

This style is pretty cool. I think it would be a perfect fit for upbeat, competitive rounds.

I'm glad you like it. You are right, it makes me wanna drink some sproutberry whisky and then go apeshit and beat enemies up with a club!

I just came across this website. The files are not Public Domain, but the songs are. Some of them are actually pretty neat!

Well, if the files aren't available it's not much help. Unless someone wants to sit down and re-enact the pieces.

That's what I meant^^ Since they are MIDIS that would be necessary.
One can also listen to them and maybe get some cool ideas for tunes.

What do you think about this?
Parent - - By Dragonclonk [de] Date 2013-02-12 15:06
Too depressing or too country music alike? Did not know much about music, so maybe I am wrong.

If you add butterflies and colourful flowers to goldmine it's perfect :D

Hm, Kevin MacLeod has actually made a lot of pieces. And many have CC-BY 3.0
I just found this, some are really cool in my opinion! And they are all CC 3.0

I think it sounds too melancholic for openclonk. But I enjoyed hearing it several hours yesterday. Thank you for sharing :*

[Edit] Just to avoid confusions: I'm not the creator of these. They were made by a buddy from school and his band mates.
