Could you supply a 3d model file?

you could tell us how many polygons/points it has, and how big the textures are :)

The 3D model has almost 1500 triangles; this is way too much for just a well. This mainly comes from the bucket beside the well; around 964 polygons just for this. Also, the stone shoring of the well does not need to be this high poly.

The polycount for a well (and bucket) should probably be less than 500. For example, a bucket wouldn't need to be more than 9 polygons for the scoop and 1 alpha textured quad for the handle.

I think the shoring of the roof should be outside the rockfountain. Like this:

Before a big discussion breaks out about details of the model: I see no place where a well could be used in OC. And even if, to model a simple well like this is a thing of 5 minutes.

It could be used as a simple derrick built of some wood and rock that need no energy (instead clonkpower like the dynamo :D). It may can only dig 25 clonk metres in the ground and it may can only fill barrels if a clonk uses tham at the well.

this is an idea, but do we really need something like this? i think we should concentrate on the core-objects.

Decoration. I'd like to see more stuff that you can use to build a nice village etc. (And if it's only for an adventure or such stuff. But it surely is nice to have decorative objects, when you're building a settlement for fun.)

I agree with what Mimmo_0 said. We could create a well, but we need to concentrate on the core game objects right now. Conceivably, once these buildings are complete there could be additional buildings such as wells to create.

It looks like you guys just concentrate on the melee stuff in the core objects, but shouldn't be there more settlementstuff too? I think the ways of settling should be reformed (especially the goals), there should be some buildings that really bring new ways of economy and surviving elements (e.g. in a settlement you have generally to buy food or produce it yourself, to get your energy back). A well could be used to get water overground to give it to the animals?

A well structure isn't being completely denied from the core content of the game; in fact I think it would be a rather interesting building and would like to see it in game. It's just that there are currently more important things to make right now. I also like the idea of herding animals, maybe you could herd sheep into a pen and cut their wool for weavery. It's just not the #1 priority at the moment.
