If you are still using Microsoft Visual Studio versions before 2010 (cl.exe version lower than 16.00.30319.01), or GNU g++ versions before 4.3, or Clang before version 2.9, please post in here and tell me if it's feasible for you to upgrade.
The reason I'm asking is that we don't really check for build failures in compilers this old, and dropping support for these would allow us to remove some support code that's strewn across the code base.
(If you're using a different compiler altogether, please also post in here and we can probably figure something out.)
