What about a new submission to GSoC? We tried a few years ago and were rejected, but we have grown since then. And I heard that small projects have a higher chance of being accepted than a few years ago [citation needed].

And if we decided to go for it (trying can't hurt, right?), we'd still need to have some pretty good small projects that we could give possible mentees.
The old project suggestions are probably pretty outdated by now. Just pulling things out of my hat, I'd say we could offer things like a new pathfinder, creating/optimizing an AST for C4Script, finishing Lorry+package repository integration into OC etc..
