1. We need the platforms folder from the latest snapshot. You can find them here: http://www.openclonk.org/nightly-builds/
2. Make sure to pick the right version (32 or 64 bit). You need to choose the same one as you have installed. So, having the 64 bit version installed, you need the 64 bit snapshot. The "platforms" folder from the 32 bit version will not work in this case and vice versa.
3. Download it and unzip the snapshot somewhere on your computer (you could just unzip it in a new folder on your desktop. This can be deleted afterwards. I also recommend not to unzip the file directly on your desktop as you have to clean up the mess on your desktop afterwards.)
4. When unzipped, copy the "platforms" folder to your OpenClonk game folder where you have installed it (if you didn't change the installation path, it is "C:\Program Files\OpenClonk" or "C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenClonk" depending on the version you chose and the system you have).
5. The unzipped snapshot folder can be deleted now if you don't want to keep it anymore.
Now the editor should be working. If it doesn't, check if you chose the right version and make sure you copied it into the correct folder. And as mentioned above, in 8.1 this should be fixed. There is also a bug report in the bugtracker already, which you can find here: http://bugs.openclonk.org/view.php?id=1991 so you can see if we already fixed that.
