I think it defeats the purpose of playground if pumps can work without power source, It is kind of a simulation place so pump should not work without power source nearby like a windmill or a flagpole, this way we can learn something.

Pumps generate power when they transfer liquids from higher up to down. Is that what's happening in playground maybe?

In our next release (9.0) the playground scenario will be replaced with a more flexible version where pumps behave normally as in every other round.
