I'm still thinking of: What if openclonk-development is done?
Perhaps, we'll have to call it Closedclonk then...
;)

huh? I just thought it will be free, full playable without buying?
nice try, taker!
but, i'm sorry, wasn't a very good post, as you wanted it to be....

Sorry, but I don't know what you are talking about... "Ultimate"? ^^'
It's an allusion to DotA, a custom map for WC III. You got 4 special abillities there, the ultimate is for most heroes a slow-recharging, high-dammage attack.
When OpenClonk is completed, all emptys will arrive at the internet games and will spam "go go go pls" and no one of the devs would ever be able to enjoy the game he once developed.
I thought about something like this as well.
(Anyway it is hard for me to imagine myself playing OC through the Internet)

Once.
Nice experience though some time go I realized that I can never learn how to play Clonk effectively =)

Yeah. Playing OC online is completly pointless.... unless you have friends.
I played CR online for three times.
First time - some "strange" scenario. Had no idea how to control my clonk there...
Second - some crazy wizard battle... incredibly boring
Third - peacefull settlement with some space-clonks stuff(?)... while I was building my underground base another player came and dropped atomic bomb onto my head...
And yeah, there was a lot of "go go go pls" people, and even more bastards, who just argued with someone else.
On other hand I am type of person, which prefers singleplayer, and MMO's are genre I hate the most. Especially annoying is fact, that they are called mmoRPG... As a fan of classic, non-pc rpg's I have to say, that they are plain, boring, linear, and there is not even a smallest bit of RPG... well, unless, like my friend you name your mount a name and while traveling talk with him... yeeeeah... great RPG experience...
EDIT: :D

That is why the most desired feature for OC (from my point of view, of course) is nice and interesting single-player campaign (may be several campaigns =).
As I see in the OC forum, there is no one who really plays clonk online, but I think it's really funny.
I play Clonk online for hours, I am hosting games etc.
Yes, the "<empty> go" is annoying, but you can also kick them.
I also thaught about implementing an ignore/unvoice button into the lobby for fixing this.
Online games are an important part of Clonk and you cannot remove them. Melees just make fun with an enemy (and OC has no split-keyboard??)

who can know this??
for some scenarios, yes, for other things: no

Just wonderin if you guys were thinking of making something like this, thats all.
It might be an interesting idea to create a standard NPC AI object; one which can tell clonks to build bases and defend them in case of enemy sighting. That way scenarios wouldn't need a new AI system for each one, though of course this would be quite difficult.
Well, creating something better than CR AI shouldn't be very hard, as it could even be CR one with more accuarte collision checking...
Making an AI that controls combat can be done with an average amount of work. Making an AI that can recognize it's environment and traverse it properly (not just jumping into the middle of a bottomless pit when trying to jump over it; rather, finding a way around.. ex. using loam) would take a lot of work.
> Making an AI that can recognize it's environment and traverse it properly
And is - as many had thought about it before - impossible if I may say so.
Let's just say people at MIT still can't get this type of AI to work properly (with cars, at least).
That doesn't necessary mean that nobody of us won't find out how to... tough I really doubt it :D
EDIT.: I think I'll try to think out some solution, but rather don't count on me too much with this... :D
