Don't know how to call them. Of course not that neccessary or important, but some graphical gimmicks like "intermission animations" could be nice. Clonks standing around like Zombies if not controlled look stupid (especially when there are more then one). They could do something after 10 seconds of standing. Even animals could have one. I know it's almost "useless" work, but opinions?

atmosphrere is always good, ++. i also dont like those zombieclonks.
i could think of:
  - clonk scratching an itch o its backhead
  - looking around
  - looking at his shoe sole and checking them
  - doing some stretching
  - looking in the camera, holding his arm towards it and pointing on his clock (only if selected but no actions)
  - ...

- Knocking at the Display *knock*knock*
- Reading a book
- Sitting down
- Swirling a bit with his hands (fighttraining)
- Lay down
- Sleep

Animation for item clonk carries in his hands at the moment (different for each possible item) ?

That could be nice, but since Randrian has done all of the clonk's animations as far as I know, you've got to understand how much work this is.

-Taking out a skull from his pocket and muttering something to it, when you zoom in you can hear the famous "To be, or [...]"

- Yawning (really surprised nobody mentioned that yet o_O)
- Pushups
- Flipping a Clunker
- Looking into the Sky (maybe even more spefic/cooler: Looking at an Object in the sky, for example a bird!)
- Moonwalk .
Parent - - By Caesar [de] Date 2010-04-09 23:48
Yawning might be hard to model...
Parent - - By MrBeast [de] Date 2010-04-10 10:41
How? Rotate head a bit up, and holding the hand in front of the mouth + sound isn't that hard. Or alternativly: Stretching the left arm, looking with the head to left bottom and scratch the head with the right hand.

Well, I think Caesar was referring to actual mouth movement. Just hiding it with a covered hand is good, though.

No, it will look like covering the mouth with the hand. That's not yawning yet. There are movements in your skeleton and wherenot. Anyway, go ahead and try... I'd be surprised, if the animation wouldn't look crappy, but I like to be surprised.

Well. The only thing I recognize you do when yawning is stretching the arms which you don't use. (+movement of the fingers)

Correction:

- Mooning.

Yech. I'd rather not have clonks 'present themselves' to the screen if that's OK with everyone...

Butt it would encourage active gameplay. ;P (ass if that joke wasn't enough already)

Well, I've already realized this for the wolf and wipf. Though, they only have 1 Idle animation each, so that could be improved upon when necessary.

Jazz Jack Rabbit 2 - has very cool idle animations.

Not that cool, also btw I don't think, that it is wise to show your clonk shooting down an UFO... most of people would not only deconcentrate, but probably try to hunt them... I also can't see clonk eating a butter/firefly(or was it a bird?)

Do you know the game "Rayman"? There he plays with his arms and throws his hands away and so on ;-)

If the latest Clonk.blend is in the resource repository, I would be willing to create some animations like this when I have time. I'm not sure if the current file in the repos is the latest, though.

Well, I implemented now some animations that the clonk executes while standing around doing nothing. This can be extendet to make it more objects specific and forbid some of them with special animations ect....

Let me know I you have still ideas for other pause animations. (or if you don't agree with some of the implemented ones)

Well, I notice the animation where:
-the Clonk interlocks his hands and stretches his arms with his palms outwards
The clonk's wrists rotate in the wrong direction.

If you have time and willing for more animations, AlteredARMOR's advice would be good:

>Animation for item clonk carries in his hands at the moment (different for each possible item) ?

Is will be difficult, is better to add tags, like

''Simple object'' (Rock, loam)
''Usual objects'' (Shovel)
''Damaging objects'' (Weapons)
''Explosives'' (Flints, TNT)
''Non-animated objects'' (I think u have understand)
''Personnal animation'' (Here create the animation u want)

And more tags

''Heavy objects''
''Big objects''
''Dangerous objects''
''Damage-self hazard objects'' (Example = Flints)
''Useless objects'' (Like scenario objects)

Ect !

Well, it wouldn't be possible to make an animation for a flint or other such 2D objects without it changing it to a 3d object (or at least an alpha-plane). I would think that is far too much just for idle animations. :/
