Since Maikel created a pump for the game but only added a placeholder graphic, I looked around for some inspiration and found this. The hit and miss engine:

As for pumps, there are a lot of videos on youtube that show the different styles of pumps and also it's movements. Search for "oil well" and/or "pumpjack". Also try the keyword "old", "antique", "wooden".
