Every time I start up a game my character spawns, it freezes, and crashes. Could someone help me out here?

I guess you'll need to provide Clonk.dmp. I'm artist/scripter so I can't help with engine problems, but another dev definitely could.

What you could try is to use a newer version and check whether the crash was already resolved in the meantime. There have been a lot of changes in the past few months (from where your version is from)
That would mean downloading the development snapshot from here: http://www.openclonk.org/nightly-builds/
The development snapshot is a version right from the development process - while you are not guaranteed that everything works perfectly fine, it usually should at least work :)
AND you have the latest version! And if it still crashes with the latest version, we should investigate that of course!

Can you open up a bugtracker report in the bugtracker? http://bugs.openclonk.org/ (in case Zappers suggestion didnt fix the problem for you)
This way, we can make sure that this bug is not forgotten and relentlessly tracked down.
