Settlement Meeting Ahoy!
Now that we're picking up steam with Settlement Development after Clonkonaut compiled the Settlement Design Document, I think it would be prudent to have another clonk meeting to help aid us in development.
Topics will include:
- 1. What the game's current state is and what functionality/content has been developed and how it works. This will help to spread understanding between developers so we are all on the same page while developing. Developers of each system/object will explain the systems to the other team members. There will be a pause after each to address questions/criticism of the system. The list of systems/objects that will be discussed is detailed here. Many topics will take a very short time to cover and may not seem important, but it is crucial every content developer understands the content he is developing around. Please reply if I am missing anything (note: I have focused mainly on game-content topics. If you want to have another engine related topic in the meeting, reply with the topic in a post so we can keep everything organized). Topics will have a maximum of 8 minutes each to explain and discuss (though the majority should take only 2-4 minutes).
- 2. Commentary and Ideas for the Settlement Design Doc. Subtopics will be the contents/construction menus, settlement goals, and all topics listed in the "Theory Needed" portion of the SDD.
- 3. Assigning tasks from the Settlement Design Doc. This should be fairly straightforward.
- 4. Prioritizing Bugs related to Settlement Development and assigning them to developers.
So, if time estimates are close enough, the meetings will be arranged as such:
Meeting 1: The first half of the meeting will be discussion of meta-topic 1. At the half-hour mark we will break to discuss meta-topics 3 and 4.
Meeting 2: We will start by finishing up whatever is left to discuss of meta-topic 1. After, we will end by discussing meta-topic 2.
Voting for the date and time will be done here:

The possible dates are between Oct-19th (Wednesday) to 25th (Tuesday), and the possible times are (GMT+2) 16:00 (4pm), 18:00 (6pm), and 20:00 (8pm).
The meeting is planned to be split into two one-hour segments spanning 2 separate days.
Hope to see you there!

Note that until end of October continental Europe has GMT+2.

I am not sure about any date after saturday, so these are orange(which is no option) for me.
Mind me participating? :) (without beeing a developer ;))

Those who have not signed the doodle but are invited to come to explain their contributions for meta-topic 1 are:

First meeting: Friday 21st at 20:00
Second meeting: Saturday 22nd at 18:00
Times are GMT+2.

This will be 19:00 (GMT+1 (Germany))?

>Could someone create a protocol for this meeting?
I reckon I'll coordinate the meeting as it progresses. The schedule will be arranged as: the first meeting covering meta-topic 1 for the first half (8 minutes max per topic, though they are expected to be much shorter on average). At the half-hour mark we will leave what's left of meta-topic 1 for meeting 2, and discuss meta-topics 3 and 4.
>I won't be there (c'mon, Friday evening!)
Apologies for that. I arranged the meetings so (according to the doodle) 1. the highest priority developers to attend (Newton, Maikel, Clonkonaut, Zapper, Mimmo_O) would only be missing one each meeting, 2. the majority, and 3. tried to make sure every developer attended at least one.

I could probably be there. But I'm not really involved in settlement, so I didn't add myself to the doodle.

What happen?

OC Meeting Protocol 21.10.2011
PPS: A lot of "[To discuss]" are left!
