It says "Additional materials", not my fault you guys never specified what kind, (object or terrain). lolz I found a loophole

What about dimonds or gems?
They would simply be worth quite a bit but would be in difficult places. Think inside rock.
Would it be easy/possible to make like a gas pocket type "material"
Like as you are digging/blasting you could trigger a gas pocket that is either exposive/flamable/unbreathable?
I would think it could be basically an invisible zap nest. The idea is that in actual mining one of the many dangers is hitting a natural gas pocket, either exploding quite a bit of the mine, or it being unbreathable.
Could be fun for a dangerous difficult mining level.

gas pockets would be something new - but i dont think its realizable in the current engine.

I think Peter once said _if_ he implements his new liquid dynamics, gas would be quite easy to add. I could be wrong there, though

>The real question is: is it fun to have gas?
Depends. Not if it is invisible. But I believe it could be fun if it is a material like oil for example

Diamond/gas guy here.
No for most maps I don't see it as fun.
But this would be a for more of a difficult mining map, one with limited visibility.
The invisible zap nest idea could work better for water, digging around and then your mine starts to fill up with water. Course it wouldn't instantly drop a ton of water on you, just slowly/quickly fill up a certain amount of the tunnel.
I really like the water in at least clonk rage, it is a fun and interesting dynamic.
Right now while water is annoying and predictable, when digging you just avoid the water and make the entrance rain proof. Having the possibility of "springing a leak" would add a bit of randomness with water and if in the wrong area could be dangerous.
