I would like to form a list of contributors who have worked on or are still working on OpenClonk. I'll be using this in the "about" section (credits) in the front-end. I would also like to have in mind what they did in the project (programming, art, script, etc.).
Here's my current list:

> (contributors who I don't know exactly what they did)
For me, nothing more than ideas and conceptual help, I fear.
The arrangement should be a different one IMO. A rather sharp line can be drawn between programming of the engine (and parts that have been swapped to being implemented in c4script now) development, content development and art development. While the people that worked on CR and earlier shouldn't be included in the credits (as long as they didnt do anything on OC), they should be mentioned because after all, we are just building on top of this big piece of work where many people were involved. As well as Redwolf Design.
Already in Clonk Rage and earlier, the number of one-time or sporadic contributors was quite big as opposed to those who really made 90% of the coordinated work. Being one of those, I always found it to be an unfair practice to be mentioned in the same breath with those who contributed one thing and then left (or stayed but didn't contribute anything further after being "in the team"). With Clonk being open source, I think the number of these kind of contributions will rise appreciably. Now, it is always difficult to draw a line between from where one is really part of the team or "just" a contributor, and who is that to decide without one game designer to put his name at the top? At the end, there will always be people who feel that their work they put in the project was not credited enough. At least, if it is either about being "in" the credits or "out of" the credits. But it does not have to be about that.
The number of devs which are for example part of the team and are working on game content is rather clear: Maikel, Mimmo_O, Randrian, Ringwaul and Zapper. So is the number of devs working on the engine and creating the art. Other (sporadic+one-time) contributors can be listed seperatly grouped under "Contributions" or "Thanks to". And as I said, that list will grow very long over the years. Already now, I guess, that list would be about 4x the size of the oc team. So either a scrolling like in Clonk Endeavour / other commercial games / films could be implemented, only the core team will be displayed in the ingame credits with a hint to a complete list of contributors in a seperate file or the credits screen will be left out of the game and the dev team + contributors are listed in a seperate file / website. I'd be ~ok with any of these options (but I favour 1 or 2) as long as there is a clear visual distinction between the OC team and contributors.

It says in the Authors file you worked on the Steam Engine graphics (alongside Newton). Is that incorrect?
Oh, I dont knew, that the model is ingame. I only follow this project intermittent.

Btw, why are you named Ringwall in the bugtracker and Ringwaul here? (and does this nick mean anything?)
Ringwall was my original alias, but I've changed it to Ringwaul more recently for uniqueness.
Eh... it's a long-winded metaphor based on battle formation.

Oho, statistics! ^^
Do you know how it counts the %? Does this include the resources repository?

If I understand this correctly from the gitstats homepage then it's number of commits.

Does this mean his most recent commit was created before his first commit? :)
Based on Ringwauls original post, Günthers posting, author.txt files and some detective work using admiin tools in the forum and bugtracker ;-), here is the newest version of the credits.
I made some small changes on the grouping, f.e. I mentioned the C4DT and masterserver seperatly and removed the Web header (f.e. who is admin on the website is really not interesting for the game). Everything written in italics are new (taken from various author.txt files):

> TomyLobo - does not exist in the forum, nor in the bugtracker. Is it perhaps Sven?
No, it's not Sven. He used to be in IRC for some time though I don't think I have seen him recently.
> Dominik Bayerl - that name rings a bell... is his nickname known?
Kanibal
> f.e. who is admin on the website is really not interesting for the game.
While not a direct contribution, it's worth a mention in the credits imho. As are the various libraries we use and the authors of photos and other art assets we used that weren't specifically made for OpenClonk.
Peewee very recently did some work on the aiming AI for Tutorial 4, so he ought to be added into the 'Thanks to Contributors' list.
It doesn't make sense that I am the only one who can change and add people to this list here. Can someone push a credits.txt, containing the content of my post into the repository? (I currently have no access to the repos)
