Congratulations!!!
You made it. Nice work. Seeing forward to play it online.
Here is a linux build. Would be great if one or two people could confirm that it works properly and then we can make it official.

Does that also happen when you build it yourself (assuming you did that before)?

Edit: okay, same issue. I'll post it in the bugtracker.
I've got your package and build a deb(ian package) Here. The Server is slow so you must maybe wait a time. If the Package is good please upload to clonk website, my link is not for perrmanent hosting.
Edit: but thats not the version what was offically released...

Hu, there is an officially released linux version?
no ? (i mean the revision is not the same from the windows released version so you've got a warning when joining network game)
Ah, right. Thanks for the hint. Should be fixed now.

How does it happen?
Building stuff on Linux is the easiest <.<
Ok, downloading this, let's see.
EDIT: Works perfectly fine.

Testing right away.
Can't wait to use latest version without recompiling whole source....
And if it's synched with Windows version, I can play with my friends! Yaaaay~!
Downloaded the .tar.gz, works fine under Ubuntu(oh, well, Xubuntu, but it's the same breed)

Did you notice that I have updated the package since your first post? It should be compatible now. But it would still be great to have a confirmation (for example by a working network game).

Did you know that you can do an ppa for this so the build server from Canonical will make binaries for 32 and 64 bit. I allready spend some time for this: https://launchpad.net/~sebastian-ruehl/+archive/ppa
This is not the latest release, but I can verify that it runs on ubuntu 10.10 64-bit

A PPA now is practically the same, only that it comes from a third party which maintains it, and users have to set it manually. But then they automatically get updates from this repository (like the official repository does the updates) and the software is kept (more or less :S) up-to-date and stable. And the Canonical Servers (the company which maintains Ubuntu) offer the service of building nightlys (for Linux of course) and putting these into the PPA.
Oh, long since I've been on these forums.
Got used to most of people being familiar with Linux, this surprised me :>

No, I did not know that. But this sounds promising. Is it also possible to get triggered when the build finishes so that we could upload it automatically to our nightly page?
As far as I know you get confirmation mails on failure or completion. It might be easy to just script these Tasks so that you can upload the code via dput, wait for the email (or perodically script check the website) and then pull the compiled binarys out.
Sounds easy and good.
The best at this is, the ubuntu user or debian user can add this ppa to sources and then get updated automaticaly. So Im not required to check the hp for updates. Seems like a win win for everybody.
Maybe we should create a OpenClonk launchpad projekt to integrate the ppa and so on... sound promissing

I just did an announcement post to the TIGSource forums. They featured Clonk Rage before, and from what I can tell are pretty interested in general indie-type development - which I hope we still qualify as.
> However, whenever I try to play this, The round begins with me being eliminated before I can do anything or even see a clonk.
Hm, somebody have an idea? Can this happen now when no player is selected or something?
All rounds have MinPlayer=1 in the engine, hence they can't be started without a player, in network play however one can start without players.
Isn't "continue playing" available?
I think it should be...
I think it should be...
What has that do the with my statement or Peter's problem?
Well, usually when a round ends, there is a "continue playing" button.
Starting a player vs player round with only one player is pretty pointless.
My point is that if somebody wants to do this, he/she should be able to, so the player isn't immediately removed.
It could be useful if somebody just wants to see how a map looks and feels without modifying the scenario itself.
Summary: I don't think that starting a Player>1 round with just one player should be impossible, nor lead to instant end of the round.
Which once again brings us to what I suggested few times already - being able to play a map with other settings/goals/rules than originally planned.
EDIT: No wait, I misread it, sorry. :<

It can happen if the Clonk model fails to load, which I guess happens when there are less than 4 texture units available on the GPU. It should be possible to find out whether this is the problem or not by having a look into the log file.
