As Armin said: "The blurry construction site sign graphic isn't good enough anymore."
So I made this:

Also, I think it should show graphics of the same hammer used to construct buildings.
It would look kind of strange if the image was painted across the gaps between the wooden planks, but I will have a look if I can make it bigger and distort it somehow at the gaps.
Oh, and a sprite would always look the same, whereas you can rotate the 3D signs randomly to show it from different angles. (Would be cool, if the sign would use this!)
An image of the building that should be built here would be nice!
The dots are supposed to be wooden nails.
And I don't know how to get an image on the sign dynamically. Except creating the building as 3D model and scaling+rotating it so that it looks right. But then the building would have to be rendered for every construction site. And this isn't quite worth it for an image that is just a few pixels big with normal zoom.

That building is already visible in front as a wireframe model. Why should it be duplicated?
The hammer is nice because it actually conveys some extra information ("this is a construction site")
Ok, I updated the attachment, the nails are in the texture now.
The texture size is 128x128, I think that's enough for such a small object. All the screenshots are at highest zoom factor and it still looks good.
Edit:
Except you mean the hammer, that's because it should look like painted onto the wood.

Erm..., no. At least not via a simple script command. But I think I can make it so that the symbol is an overlay and therefore easy to change. Will report back.
