Does the lift/ropeway should have some supports(=Stützen) or only from station to station?
I made 3 models from different supports.
My favourite is the third.

EDIT:
Now the planks are thicker and I uploaded the model,if someone like to texture it. The 3 supports are in one blend-file.

Looks awesome! I'd say it could be optional. You build these towers and you can connect them. As soon as you connect the first too, an elevator/lift case is spawned - plus one can build additional towers and connect them. I think this is the best option.

I move this to its own topic.

The planks are definitely to thin in my eyes.

Somehow, yeah, a lift constructions needs to be stable. :P

Maybe we can script a rule: if there is an earthquake (or similar) the supports (and all other wooden structures like the wind generator,...) break :D.I´m going to make the planks thicker.

great :) from my side there are now other things to complain - just a nice concept.

This looks nice! :D

I like the first one most for it's simplicity; Clonks make what is necessary for their settlement, and the single wheel seems the most convenient to make for a simple settlement. However, I think it would also be very interesting to make it optional; possibly an upgrade system for the lift where more advanced systems are faster or something.

Also, I think there should be supports where the cable would make the cable-car run aground. For instance, if you have two stations at either side of a hill, you would put a support in the top so it doesn't get stuck on the hill. Also, could the supports not be lift stations themselves?

I think better than only supports for stations is a small house with a winch or motor in it and next to it a support.Or also mobile stations.

something like this:

I don't see how the lift should work with a single wheel. Here is a sketch:

Yes,maybe if the could change the angle after building... but my favourite is the 3 wheel variation.

Even if a belt ran on the wheel of two connected 1-wheeled towers, then they couldn't have more than two connected towers.

I realize the flaws of this design now.
