The following is a list of things that are probably on people’s minds, Would be cool if the devs would add in the things current completetion level, Ie: new idea, accepted idea, work in progress, done.  Oh and if theres nothing in front of a thing, its either not put in yet, or it never will be.

    Incapacitate/kill set number of clonks

As I was meaning to say in the PM, I think this suggests creation of things which we won't implement (many things from CR(or it's add-ons) which haven't ever been mentioned as a concept for OC), and doesn't list all the things we will. If you could compile a list of all the things we have already planned, that would be good.

k though, everything here shouldn't be that hard to implement, i mean, i only did this stuff right now cause i figured they would be require less programing per thing.

It's not that the things listed are too difficult to implement, just many CR things are just not needed/wanted for OpenClonk.

I never said that this stuff was just from CR, these are any of the goals/rules/etc/etc that i could think up, yes i looked over CE and CR to make sure i got things right, but i just wanted to write down a list of wat hopefully will be implemented into the full game.

Not to mention it gives u guys something to work on if u run out of ideas, (or u can just stare at it and brainstorm stuff) LOLz

Instead of copying ideas from previous games that have been there for the last 10 years... why not create new ideas? Repeated copying of old, worn-out ideas which have got boring a long time ago, is not healthy for game development.

Yes i know they can be boring, but some people im guessing would still like these things to be in the game, and not all of them r old, different kinds of rain, volcanoes, meteors deposite material, I dont think a time limit has ever been introduced, (or has it?). This is basically just a checklist, stuff that people r used to, stuff that they might want to see, and any other miscilanials. BY THE WAY I DO NOT SPEAK FOR EVERYONE.

On a different approuche, this shows a bunch of the different ways a game can be played, as in wat to prioritize, Like i said originaly, im sorry if this ends up being more hassle than its worth.

But ya, this isnt JUST a list of things from the last 10 years, most of this stuff has already been implemented into previous games, (meaning they r no longer ideas but just part of the game).   Man, being politicaly correct is hard work. Lolz

Many of the things you have listed (ie: lightning, meteors, some animals) aren't bad ideas, and some of which have already been implemented. However, some ideas like "mine all gold" have gotten fairly tiresome, and we've been trying new methods which incorporate mining gold, but not as the entire goal. Hypothetically, there could be a goal where you must become king of the land. To do so, you would need to have a crown at some point which you must make from gold.

There's no reason to take elements from previous games just because they were in previous games. If that element enriches the gameplay though, then that could be worth implementing. For instance, we've been getting inspiration from many things from CR and it's add-on packs. However, this doesn't mean we should add hunger and thirst to the base game just because it was in CR. Does it enrich the normal Clonk game? For long settlement rounds or even quick melees, hunger and thirst could either be a hassle or just not affect gameplay (in short rounds).

I dont mean they should be manditory, but it would be nice to have them.

I think im finally starting to fully understand wat u guys r doing with the game.  Though let me ask u this, wat happens if u dont implement certain things, (like some of the old boring rules), and then later people want them anyway.  I know it would be easy enough to just put them in there, but putting them in now would just make a bit more sense, but again, its not fully up to me, or any one person for that matter, its up to the community as a whole.

I can tell you that it is extremely hard (I'd say impossible) to maintain a perfect game balance from the very start. Already on the beta-testing phase there are tons of improvements which can be made (somebody saw that thing A gives unfair advantage in certain situations while thing B is completely useless - thus a modification can be made, and so on...). So right now the main task is to develop a somewhat complete, playable game (but this DOES NOT mean that it will be perfect). After some experience we will certainly see what else can be added/improved/removed to push the game a bit closer to the complete perfection.

They can make an addon if they really want to. However, there are reasons why we aren't implementing these.

I'm not saying we're not implementing everything in this list, just things like hunger and thirst (and uranium?!) and outdated melee rules aren't necessary.

urainium would be for nuclear reactors, we have just about every other pwer souce, y not add one?

Well, for one, I'm fairly certain nuclear reactors were created looooooooooong after the Renaissance.

And for two:
1.Clonks build nuclear reactor
2.Due to clonk's very haphazard style of construction, reactor explodes
3.Map wiped

Good point, but remember clonks have been know to: wield magic, tame dragons, use flamethrowers, use lighting guns, not to mention in dowload packs they've been know to: pilot giant mechs, wield modern day weaponry, wield future weponry, build stargates, build/ride air bikes, dare i go on? LOLZ  X0

Previously the clonks have had a few major eras that they live in, clonk, medieveal, western, underwater, and in packs, every other one u can comprehend.

Wat i mean to say is, U guys might want to consider making content for the game centered around different eras/times/themes. Theres already the basic stuff, medieval, western, and ill just say outer space as a referance to hazard, since it was made by matt originaly.  Nuclear reactors and other such stuff could just go into a modern pack or somethin, but if u guys decide not to  make an official one, I cant stop ya, i might try to reason with ya otherwise, but i cant stop ya.

But anyway, I made this so that if a thing was thought to be missing, something here might help u rememeber it, or come up with somethin else.

That's exactly what add-on packs are for. However, we are not working on add-on packs at the moment; we are still creating the base game.

Alright. If you want other person's opinion I have to admit that I agree with Ringwaul here. We should definitely concentrate on the base stuff (or "base pack" if this is how you like it to be called). And the base stuff is... yeah, everything up to later Renaissance (I'd say even far more further - 19th century: gunpowder, steam engines, flying devices, electricity? - no we should renounce electricity for sure). Thus we have a mixture of medieval elements (swords, dragons, knights, magic? - personally I would like to drop magic out of the base content (leaving magical objects though)), Renaissance (hot-air balloons, gyro/clockwork mechanisms?, Black Death), Modern era (steam power, airplanes, Tesla researches) and so on.  See the long discussion here.
I remember playing Civilisation II with additional packs: the fantasy one and the futuristic one (with unique objects and research trees) adding some new expirience to the game but leaving the basic content as it is. So my point is: leave it as it is: no uranium and nuclear reactors - just a good old one-on-one melee fight :-)

Im just posting this way so that the typing space is wider.

Mabye i could come up with different themes, and type out lists of wat might go in them, then i post them in a topic called ideas for future packs, (topic will need to be made, though i wont do it unless u give me the okay), and then we go from there.

This way, i can come up with loads of ideas, organize them, and then submit them one group at a time, (one theme say evey month or so).

Ill just shut up there though, cause that is just getting really far ahead of everything, i ust wanted to ask so i could start to work on it now rather than later.

One last thing, is there a topic in this forum pertaining to wat the games logo/title will look like?

Use your own discretion to judge if the topic is necessary to create or not. ;) Is it something important that should be shared with the community?

I was working on a logo a while back, but before I could fix it up into a final design (more unique CLONK letters, since they are just based off the original design by matthes), my computer was wiped.
