I created a new default style for the forum which fits to the layout of the navigation bar and the wiki.
Go to your user options and choose Rybka2 to use it. I'd like to receive some feedback about this.

Looks good, but:
- I don't like the big left and right borders at all
- The black bar looks too prominent, and two navigation bars are not very integrated. Please use the main bar style for the mwforum navbar, remove the main bar, and activate the mwforum Home URL option. Navigating from the forum to some other place on the main site is not common enough to spent much space on it.
- The contrast between the white background and the grey boxes is too subtle. Make the grey darker or white, please.

I don't get you here.
There's two navigation bars at the moment: "Home Forum Create About" and "Forum Help Search Messages Options Logout". I'd like just one instead of two. There ought to be a mwforum option which changes the second to "Home Forum Help Search Messages Options Logout", so that we don't need the first anymore.
Hm the whole sense of the redesign was to integrate the forum into the website through the top bar. I could add a forum option like in the clonk forum, though.
Yes, but I think visual consistency is enough. The wiki pages would have "Home Forum Create Foo Bar About" (or "Home Forum Create Foo Bar About Options Logout"?), the forum "Home Forum Help Search Options Logout". That's two global links that are the same everywhere.
Another option might be to remove the Forum link from the second bar, replace the Forum link in the main bar with forum_show.pl when displaying the forum, and make the second bar stick out less. The same for the wiki, that black bar is just too eye-catching.

Nice design, but..:
The white ones that are also in the wiki? I don't like them, too. On a wide screen, they get really (too) large...
And the buttons for "Poll New Posts Unread Posts " could perhaps use some kind of visible spacer in between.

Yes. I should have called them margins. :-) They should have a constant width not bigger than a few em.
Hm, nice but I don't like these Icons for New/Old/whatever Posts. Too bubble-ish. And I cannot change the style again :C
You cannot change the style? What errormessage appears?
The dropdown menu dont let me open itself :(
Doesn't sound like a forum bug to me. The HTML code looks fine as well. Can you open the other dropdown menus? Are you using Firefox 2? Why don't you try 3?
Ah ok, with the new Firefox it works.
Since the original Rybka looks pretty horrible with the light bar at the top, I'd recommend removing it from the options and changing the setting for all users.
Other thoughts: Looks nice enough, but having 2-3 navigation bars is just too much. At least merge the Forum/Home/Help/Search/Messages/Options/Logout bar into the top-most one. Right-aligned. Or remove the Home/Forum/Create/About links and replace them with the Forum/.../Logout links, that might actually be more usable.

1. I'm for it. Anyone wants to keep Rybka?
2. That's a nice Idea. I'll see about that.

I agree with Günther on the black bar being too distracting from the rest of the content. Also, its design is totally different from the other elements - no diagonal stripes background, the links are centered instead of left-aligned, etc. Could you unify this a little?
I made the bar more light. So you would align the black bar on the wiki page too? (Can only bee seen if you are logged in)
Hmm. It's still pretty dark, isn't it? Or is the cache playing tricks on me? Well, yes, I'd radically make the alignment be the same everywhere. ;)
Another thing. Sometime the wiki search input manages to grab focus, making navigation a bit annoying. I wonder how that happens. Anyway, do we really need it in the Forum? Maybe a forum search form would be more appropriate here, if there has to be one at all.
update:
- white margins on the left and right are fixed and not so big
- standard bars are grey, not brownish
- added visual spacers (orange bullets) for the secondary navigation bar
- added a light background for the secondary navigation bar
- the search field searches now in the forum (while in the forum)
- the forum link now links to forum_show.pl while in the forum, to forum.pl while on the website
- NF gave me a little bit more fancy provisorily logo
- added a shadow for the header to make it more distinguished from the rest
- made the black bar a lot lighter
- made the body of the message boxes darker
- removed Search, Home and Forum link from the dark bar ( duplicates )
- removed the GO button on the search
Was that the 500? :P
Pardon?
> white margins on the left and right are fixed and not so big
I think it would be better if they were as big as the margin between the main navigation bar and the content. And the Logo and search button had the same left/right margin as the content.
> made the black bar a lot lighter
It's still very alien. Does it have to be light text on dark ground? If the design is too bright without it, some other parts could be darkened.
Otherwise it's good :-)
